Cascade HealthCare Products carries Tungsten Carbide, also known as Carb-N-Sert® Needle Holders, also known as Tungsten Carbide Needle Holders. Our selection includes Mayo-Hegar, Crile Wood, Derf, Baumgartner and Olsen Hegar needle holders manufactured by Miltex® and König®.
These German made instruments have Carb-N-Sert jaws that are made of tungsten carbide, the hardest steel made for surgical instruments. They are then bonded to needle holders made of the finest quality stainless steel. The teeth are precision milled into the tungsten carbide, forming sharp pyramid-shapes to provide a positive non-slip grip on needles and sutures. The edges around the outside of the jaws are chamfered to prevent accidental cutting of suture material when held in the jaws. The edges around teh box lock have distinct non-catch bevels, preventing fraying of suture material and the satin finished, glare reduced finger rings are well rounded and polished for better "feel" and prevention of finger fatigue.
Miltex Carb-N-Sert instruments are the world's finest grade instruments, setting the standard by which all other brands are compared. Their instruments are German-made of the highest grade European stainless steel. When properly cared for, Miltex instruments can provide exceptional, consistent performance for a lifetime.
König Carb-N-Sert instruments offer outstanding performance, longevity and durability. Brushed stainless steel and German craftmanship are the hallmarks of the König mid-grade collection. These instruments are designed to withstand the rigors of regular use, and are backed by a lifetime warranty.
